At Acadians Construction, safety is not a program — it is a core value. We believe that all injuries are preventable and that every member of our team has both the right and the responsibility to work safely. From the boardroom to the job site, safety is woven into every decision we make.
Our safety culture is built on accountability, continuous improvement, and proactive hazard identification. It's why we've maintained one of the lowest Total Recordable Incident Rates in Atlantic Canada for four consecutive years.

Our Six Safety Pillars
Hazard Prevention
Proactive hazard identification and elimination before work begins. Every task starts with a pre-task hazard assessment completed by the crew on the ground.
Training & Education
All personnel receive comprehensive safety onboarding and ongoing training — from WHMIS to fall protection to site-specific orientations for every project.
Site Inspections
Formal safety inspections are conducted weekly on all active sites. Non-conformances are tracked, investigated, and corrected within 24 hours.
Reporting Culture
We celebrate near-miss reporting as a sign of a healthy safety culture. All incidents are documented, reviewed, and used to improve our practices.
Subcontractor Standards
Every subcontractor on an Acadians site must meet our safety pre-qualification standards. Our expectations don't change based on who's holding the tools.
Worker Wellbeing
Safety extends beyond physical hazards. We support mental health, proper fatigue management, and open dialogue about wellbeing across all levels.

Our safety management system is COR™ certified and continuously updated to reflect current best practices, legislative requirements, and lessons learned from our project portfolio.
